The Motras Scientific 1500UV is a portable, rugged and full functional UV Visible CCD based spectrometer which can identify and quantify compounds based on molecular absorption. The device uses Xenon lamp as light source
The portable nature of the system, coupled with no mechanical movements results into an extremely rugged system. The device uses ultra-fast CCD array element which captures the entire spectrum in less than 0.1 seconds.

Motras Scientific Instruments – 1500UV UV Visible Spectophotometer based on our AlphaCapture CCD based polychromator. The light source is a Xenon lamp. The complete system is based on 12volt DC power supply and with footprint just bigger than an A4 sheet. The software is CFR21 complaince. The spectral bandwidth in this demonstration is 0.7nanometers.
The polychromator is based on our ALPHACAPTURE platform.
The above diagram shows the internals of the system. The light enters through a slit and is collected by a collimating mirror, received by the Grating and focused by a focusing mirror over the detector. Usage of special metal alloy with lowest thermal expansion coefficient allows stable results in huge temperature ranges
With the power of Scanalyse software, the post processing of data with mathematical operation is a breeze. The scan of SRM shown below shows that the peaks wavelenghts and ABS matches with the certified values.
